Paris Festival of Martial Arts 2008

Phillip Weeks of John Moreton’s Wado-UK Karate group travelled to Paris recently, to compete in a festival of Martial Arts. The competition was held on Saturday 27th September at the Euro Disney theme park.

16 year old Phillip has represented Wado-UK on many occasions and has gained much success over the years. On this occasion he was competing in the Kata (Forms) category and was once again to come up with a performance which would see him in the medals.

After successful early rounds, he found himself in the final against another English competitor. On this occasion however he was to be nudged into second place, but therefore still earned a respectable silver medal.

Phillip now joins more of his team mates to compete in the South Yorkshire Open Karate Championships in Sheffield, on October 5th.
