Many months of planning for our 4th Wado UK Championships paid off on October 21st, when 400 competitors from all over the UK arrived in Hull for the event. This event is now on the calendar for most of the major associations within the EKF, and it continues to grow in size and popularity. Although this years event saw yet more changes, The Sports Arena, formerly the Bonus Arena, was once again the venue for our championships. This year six areas were employed, and the arena proved a perfect venue for the 600 square meters of tatami required, and the 400 competitors who accommodated them. There were in the region of 400 spectators also, meaning there's no way back now. This venue is the only one suitable in our area for an event of this size.
Any changes in the future wouldn't concern the physical structure of the competition, so much as the organisation and detail of the event. We firmly believe that we now offer one of the highest quality competitions in the country.
We are eternally grateful to those associations, groups and clubs who chose to attend our competition. They as much as anyone else are a part of the success.
Of course none of this success would be possible without the help of our small army of volunteers. So many people make this competition possible it is impractical to name them all. If you assisted in any way then you should be proud to have been a part of something which proved so successful.

Organisation aside, we should also be proud of the achievements of our members. All of our clubs had competitors at the event, many of which were there assisting in setting up the day before too. The table below gives all the names of those who achieved success, but everyone who attended should be congratulated for their efforts.
It does seem like a year is a long time to arrange an event of this type, but to ensure continued success we will be beginning the preparations for 2013 immediately. Anyone's assistance is therefore greatly appreciated.

We would like to say a massive thank you to all of the competitors, coaches and parents who made the journey to Hull to support our championships. Your attendance made the day a success and made it all worth while.
