February 2009
On 21st February 2009, a small group of Wado-UK members traveled to Manchester for a course covering many aspects of competition Karate. Among those who traveled was Steve Balaam-Reed who was successful in his attempts to gain his competition coaches badge for National competition. Also representing Wado-UK were Jessica Newton, Harry Oetegenn and Joe Munro, all assisting in the practical side of the referees exams by providing the Kumite for the day. Pictured below are some of the Wado-UK members who took part in the Kata course which followed.

This follows on from where Tony left off in July 2008 in Maribor Slovenia, passing the first of his European Kata Judge exams. The Paris Competition was necessary for him to ratify that earlier qualification.
