8th Wado UK Presentation Evening
Once again our Wado UK membership descended on the Asylum at the Hull University for the end of year celebrations. Around 250 of our members and their families assembled to hear who had won this years club and association awards. November

Western Karate Union Winter Championships
Charan and Amrit Dhesi flew the Wado UK flag on the 22nd November, as they competed at in Weston super Mare at the WKU Winter Invitational. Between them they won 2 gold and 2 silver medals. A report can be read by clicking here.

October

Federation of European Wado Kai.


On the 29th October. Three wado UK competitors took to the tatamis in Budapest Hungary for the 42nd FEW European Championships. Steve Balaam-Reed and his two students Thomas Balaam-Reed and Jakub Lutwiejko, all of the Chikara Dojo, came back with 3 medals from the event. Thomas winning a gold in both his individual and team Junior Kata sections, and Steve a bronze in his pairs kata alongside Raj Bhardwaj from the England Wado Kai group.
This was on the back of the World Wado Kai Championships which took place in Nagoya Japan back in August. To see Steve's account of the competitions please click here.

British Karate Association Championships 2015
This year’s British Karate Association Championships in Leigh were held on the 25th October. We did have a small squad there, which won a total of 9 medals. If you would like to see who took part, and who won which medals, click here.

Ice Skating Bag-Pack
Many of our younger Wado UK members were at the Asda Kingswood store on Saturday 24th October. Their objective was to collect as much of the shoppers spare change as possible. This they managed to do in great style by reaching the incredible figure of £996.10p. Hei Jo Shin Championships

BIKO Championships 2015
Two Wado UK Competitors, Charan and Amrit Dhesi, travelled to Harlow in Essex for this year's BIKO Championships, and between them they won 1 silver and 2 gold medals. Click here to read more details.

7th Wado K East Yorkshire Open Karate Championships
Over the weekend of 25th-28th September, a small army of Wado UK members, parents and volunteers did the annual pilgrimage to the Airco Arena to stage this year's Wado UK East Yorkshire Championships. The actual competition was on the 27th, but such is the amount of work necessary it begins on the Friday and ends on the Monday. We are extremely grateful to those who offered their assistance, from those who helped on the competition day, to those who were there all four days. Your efforts are not only appreciated, they are essential. Thank you one and all!

British International Open Karate Championships
Our recent visit to Glasgow for the British International Karate Championships proved very fruitful for one young man. Amrit Dhesi managed for the third year running to secure another well deserved Title winning the gold medal in his Kata category. This hat-trick of victories is a great achievement and a very pleasing result not only for him and his parents, but for Wado UK also. Click here to visit page.

Wado UK Junior Championships

Northern Open Classic
Ellis Miller of the Hull Zanshin Dojo traveled to Warrington on the 21st June for the Northern Open Classic. Click here to see how he got on.

Chojinkai Cumbria Karate Championships
The Dhesi siblings were once again in action at the weekend, 6 medals were to be the tally for the day with Amrit being involved in 5 of them. To read more click here.

British 4 Nations Championships 2015
Five of our Wado UK competitors traveled to Glasgow for the 4 Nations Championships at the Emirates Arena on the 23rd May. 2 silver medals and a bronze was to be their reward, click here to read more.

Awakai Nationals
The Chikara Dojo attended the Awakai Nationals at the weekend, and all 5 members won medals on the day. Click here to read more.

Western Karate Union Spring Invitational
On the Bank Holiday Weekend the Dhesi family from the East Hull Woodford Dojo made the long trip down the Weston-super-Mare for the WKU Spring Invitational. A trip they often make for this competition, and a competition they often win medals at. This time was to be no exception, but all did not go according to plan. Read on to find out more.

EKF Nationals
Over the weekend of the 18th & 19th April, the English Karate Federation held its National Championships at the Ponds Forge in Sheffield. 4 Wado UK Clubs were represented, with two of them winning medals at the event. To read more details click here.

Asda Bag-Pack
On the 18th April, 4 of our Wado UK clubs took to the tills at the Asda Kingswood store to raise funds for this years Christmas Ice Skating Day. Following the deficit from last year's bowling day, some of the money is to be used to replenish the coffers with the rest going directly for the 2015 event. Hei Jo Shin Karate Championships
Members of two Wado UK clubs traveled to Leicester on the 12th April. Competitors from the Chikara Dojo were in the majority, with just the one competitor from the Hull Zanshin Dojo. Click here to read a report of the day.

Hartlepool Wado Kai
Probably finishing the month off were a group of Wado UK Competitors from 4 of our clubs who visited Hartlepool for their Wado Kai event. This was a regular on our calendar but 2014 saw a collision with our own Junior Championships so we didn't attend. Here we were again though and you can see how our squad of 11 got on by clicking here.

World Wado Kai Championships

Three members of the Chikara Dojo will be traveling to Japan later in the year, to represent the English Wado Kai at the Wado Kai World Championships. The competition will take place over the weekend of the 15th & 16th August, where the Chikara trio will also be riding the Bullet Train as a special bonus treat on the trip. Below Steve Balaam-Reed, along with son Thomas and Jakub Lutwiejko can be seen during a Radio Humberside interview which was aimed at looking for sponsorship. We will of course bring you news of the trio's results following the competition.

Mushindo Kata Championships

Steve Balaam-Reed and his Chikara Dojo traveled to the Midlands on the same day as the Chojinkai Championships. His competitors returned home with 11 gold medals, 8 silver medals and 8 bronze medals. Click here to read the report page for this competition.

Chojinkai Children's Championships

Wado UK just had the one competitor at this year's Chojinkai Children's Championships on March 8th. However by the end of the day Ellis Miller of the Hull Zanshin Dojo had managed to have five medals placed around his neck. Click here to read more details.

KSE 8

6 members of Wado UK took part in the 2015 edition of the ShitoKai England Championships on the 1st March. Members of the East Hull Woodford and Hull Zanshin dojo's traveled to Gloucester for the event, and the resulting 9 medal haul details can be seen by clicking here.

Yorkshire Open Karate Championships

Members of the Shinken and Zanshin Dojo's attended the Yorkshire Open over the weekend of 21st & 22nd February. 2 Silver and 2 bronze medals was the reward for their efforts. To see how the group got on click here.

EKF Kyu Grade Championships
